Rabaris are the nomadic pastoral community of Kutch in Northern Gujurat. They are expert camel breeders, cattle herders and shepherds. Embroidery is an integral part of Rabari life. Their embroidery includes chain stitch, button hole stitch around the mirrors and running stitch. Coloured cotton embroidery onto an indigo blue cotton backing with same colour piping. This product is bought directly from Kala Raksha, a grassroots social enterprise in Northern Gujurat.
