Vintage Cover With Ganesh And ‘Goodluck’ Design On Cotton

A gorgeous vintage hand-embroidered cover, probably to cover a pile of bedding, finely made with beautifully designed and executed decoration. Ganesh, Krishna, animals, birds and flowers, each with spiritual and personal signficance, all feature along with ‘Goodluck’. It is hand-embroidered using cotton thread in a mix of soft shades, on soft off-white cotton. It would have taken many weeks, if not months, of careful work to create a piece of this size and quality. At a later date it has been finished with unusual gold/brown and pink borders. It is in excellent condition. Saurashtra, early twentieth century.
