Small Vintage Kantha Textile With Silk Embroidery

An unusual vintage Kantha delicately embroidered in gorgeous soft shades of purple, pink, green, orange and yellow silk on a double layer of off-white cotton. A subtle central mandala is surrounded by beautifully executed flowers, foliage and fish.  It is in excellent condition with a few discreet stains, reflecting the age and use of this piece. It is lightweight and would make a wonderful table cover or wall hanging. Bengal c1940.
