Vintage Ganesh Bedcover On Soft Off-White Cotton

A gorgeous Ganesh bedcover which would also make a beautiful wallhanging for any room in the house. Decorated with an extraordinary variety of motifs, from the pantheon of gods, to people, animals, trees, birds and even bicycles, full of spiritual and personal meaning. It is beautifully hand embroidered using cotton thread in a mix of pastel and richer shades, on soft off-white cotton. It would have taken many weeks, if not months of careful work, to create a piece of this size and quality. It may originally have been made for use as a cover, or possibly to hang in a doorway, with the tassel trimmed border added at a later date. It is in excellent condition.
